Isis and Osiris

Challenge 11: Put your OC's as players in a myth. basically. xD

So I did the myth of Isis and Osiris.

<sub>In the Myth, Osiris was the the great Pharaoh of Egypt, son of the goddess of the sky. He married his sister Isis, who was wise, and had the power of Magic. Osiris taught the people of Egypt how farm and use the floods of the nile to their andvantage, bringing them up into a flourishing society. Both he and Isis became very popular and beloved my the people. Their brother Set however, was very jealous of how popular his brother had become, and hatched a plot to destroy him. He invited Osiris over to a feast, and while Isis warned Osiris against going, for she knew of Set's jealousy and suspected it was a trap, Osiris refused to believe his brother had evil intentions.

Long story short, the feast was greast, but in the end Set tricked Osiris into entering a beautiful gilded coffin and sealed him inside, killing him. He threw the coffin into the river and it floated to Persia. Isis was very grieved, but went out to search for him and after years she found him, bringing the coffin back to Egypt. Once she arrived, she hid it in some reeds to disguise it from Set. Set happened by though and found it. Enraged that Osisris was now back in Egypt (though still dead) he tore open the coffin, and ripped his brother into 13 pieces, scattering them across Egypt.

Still Isis persisted, slowly searching for the pieces with the help of her younger sister. Once she collected all of the pieces, she used her magic to put him back together, and preformed the first embalming rites, allowing Osiris to pass through into the Underworld, where he became king of the Dead.
This was the beginning of the Egyptian mummy-making tradition.</sub>

Akira's skin is supposed to be kind of greenish, because according to the myth, it turned green when he died...?
And the Hierogylphics say "Isis" (on the left) and "Osiris" (on the right). At least I hope. I looked them up on Wikipedia, and then saw a different arrangement of the Osiris one in a reference... so... Who knows!
I referenced Sumiko/Isis from the picture on "Age of Mythology".
And if you're wondering why her hands are red, like my sister, it's because she just finished putting Osiris together... I figured there had to be a little SOMETHING there. XD;

I had fun experimentingwith my new water color pencils. ^^
