Prologue:
Hello, my name is Sumiko Suzuki. The book you are reading is the account of my life so far, though I am not old, this story may go on for a very long time. You see a lot has happened in the past 23 years of my life, I have been attacked numerous times, I have even been betrayed once or twice- you might say I have been traumatized throughout my entire life. But you can’t. Because I am not hysterical, distraught, or disturbed by anything of my past life- for that is what I call it now. My past life as it represents everything that I have passed through, everything that lies in my past. As I was saying- I am not the traumatized individual that one would expect to see at the end of this book, nor am I brave heroine who has turned her back upon all that is evil. No, I lay somewhere in the middle of those categories. My story begins with myself age 4, living in the island of song, the smallest nation in all of Statoki, with my older brother Akria, age 8, a pair of twins Setsumi, and Uchito, both age 15, my mother and my father. Thus begins the story of my life, me Sumiko Suzuki.
